Art State Arizona

Catalyst Creative Collective Culture Ambassador & Docent Program

November 11th - December 31st, 2026
Catalyst Arts & Maker Space, Tucson Mall

When you volunteer with the Catalyst Creative Collective, you become the welcoming face of a thriving hub of creativity and collaboration. Docents and Culture Ambassadors play an essential role in helping visitors, artists, and community members feel at home in this vibrant space where art, culture, innovation, and community intersect.

By supporting day-to-day operations, events, and creative programs, volunteers help extend the impact of the Art State Arizona and contribute to building a stronger, more connected creative community. Every 40 hours of volunteer service earns you a complimentary annual Catalyst membership and an invitation to our annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.

Volunteer Roles:

Docents may serve in one or more of the following volunteer categories, depending on interest and experience:

1. Front of House Ambassadors Be the first friendly face visitors see! Welcome guests, answer questions, assist with tours, and share information
about current exhibits, programs, and partner organizations. Receive Art State AZ package delivery, direct visitors to meeting and rented spaces, and keep front desk documents organized and updated.

2. Event & Facilities Support Crew Help bring creative programs to life by supporting event setup, breakdown, and space care. Volunteers in this role help ensure that the space remains beautiful, functional, and welcoming for all.

3. Creative Tech & AV Support  Assist with sound, lighting, projection, and livestream needs during performances, classes, or partner events. Great for those with an interest in event production or media arts.

4. Program & Artist Support Docents  Work alongside artists, instructors, and partner organizations to assist with workshops, art classes, and creative residencies. Provide logistical support, help with registration, and foster a positive learning environment.

Volunteer shifts are program dependent and vary based on scheduled events, classes, and exhibitions. Opportunities are available weekdays, weekends, and select evenings.
